Eczema is a condition that causes the skin to become inflamed, itchy, red, and dry. It's a common skin condition, especially in babies and children, but it can affect people of all ages.

What is Eczema?

Eczema is a condition that causes the skin to become inflamed, itchy, red, and dry. It's a common skin condition, especially in babies and children, but it can affect people of all ages. In the United States, it's estimated that about 31.6 million people (roughly 10% of the population) have some form of eczema. The exact cause of eczema is not fully understood, but it's believed to be related to a combination of genetic and environmental factors.

Eczema Symptoms

Eczema symptoms can vary depending on the individual and the severity of the condition. However, common symptoms of eczema include:

Itchy skin: Often intense and worse at night.

Red or inflamed patches: The skin becomes red and swollen, especially in the early stages.

Dry, sensitive skin: The skin can feel tight, rough, and dry.

Rash: It often appears on the face, neck, wrists, hands, feet, elbows, and knees.

Blisters: Small, raised bumps can leak fluid and crust over when scratched.

Eczema Relief

While eczema has no cure, it can be managed with skincare routines, moisturizing, avoiding triggers, and sometimes using prescribed medications. At Vanicream Sensitive Skin Care, all our products are formulated without common chemical irritants found in ordinary skin and hair care products, such as dyes, fragrances, masking fragrances, lanolin, paraben, and formaldehyde releasers that can exacerbate the condition.

The National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance is awarded to the Vanicream™ Moisturizing Cream, Vanicream™ Moisturizing Lotion, Vanicream™ Gentle Body Wash, Vanicream™ Cleansing Bar, Vanicream™ Gentle Facial Cleanser and most recently both the Vanicream™ Daily Facial Moisturizer and Vanicream™ Facial Moisturizer SPF 30.

Consult a dermatologist for an individual treatment plan, especially when symptoms become uncontrollable.
